Galaxy S4 Will Boost the S3's Sales When It Is Released

Instead of digging up the rumor mill to search for some fishy Galaxy S4 news, I will dedicate today's article to another business analysis of Samsung's Galaxy business model. In this article we will try to explain how the S4 will not just help Samsung make money by selling this device to the loyal consumers, but will also help boost the S3 sales as well! Additionally, this concept will spoil Apple and BlackBerry smartphone sales, but there is a lot of competition out there that Samsung needs to think about as well. Additionally, you can expect a lot of people to upgrade to the new S4 as soon as it comes out!

Galaxy S4 will boost S3 sales
Samsung's best seller is in for another frenzy?
As things currently stand, a lot of people have a contact for the Galaxy S3 that will be expiring sometime in April or May, which is an ideal time for a Galaxy S4 launch. If the timing is good, then a lot of people will be able to easily upgrade to a new device and extend their contracts or even switch their provider. However, aside from the people rushing to buy the new flagship, a lot of people will go crazy over the older S3 model, especially once the price drops down a bit which is fairly logical.

Of course, this can happen only if Samsung really puts out a good quality product! Towards the end of 2012 a lot of iOS users have switched to Android thanks to the S3 which has done its job quite well. It is needless to say that the new flagship smartphone from the Korean tech giant will have big shoes to fill and expectation are rather high!

Should the rumors about its specs and features be true, this will be a very good device that will be able to blow the Apple iPhone 5 out of the water as well as outsell the new BlackBerry and Sony devices. Hopefully for Samsung their engineers won't let their previously won fame hit them in the head to much and they will actually do their best to create another best-seller in the mobile industry. Samsung certainly has the resources and their chance to take the spotlight in the mobile industry for a second year in a row are quite high.

While we wait to see how things roll out, make sure to follow this blog for more Samsung Galaxy S4 news!

Galaxy S4 vs BlackBerry10: Sammy playing dirty?

What we knew as RIM for so long no longer exists as they have officially changed their name to BlackBerry and released two new devices which might be a threat to the Samsung Galaxy S4. If you are searching for a Galaxy S4 vs BlackBerry 10 comparison that will not be the purpose of this article. Instead, our task here will be to outline some of the business strategies that the two companies will be using to market and sell their products effectively. Once we know more about the S4 we will do the first comparison of the phone next to what BB 10 has to offer! So, let's see what Samsung has been doing about the BlackBerry 10 launch event that was held in London yesterday. Let us start with this screenshot.

GalaxyS4 VS BlackBerry 10
Samsung stealing ad BlackBerry 10 ad space via Google Ads
So, let us start with explaining in short how these Google ads work. Basically, you choose a set of keywords that you want to advertise for and you pay as much is needed to outbid the competition. So, Samsung chose to advertise their products to users who were clearly searching for BlackBerry 10 news. While the new devices and the OS that good- ol' RIM has released will be the talk of the day, Samsung didn't allow the spotlight to fully leave their stage! Samsung has also done the same on Twitter and they bought a lot of ad space on sites such as CNET and Mashable in order to do their best to stop the news of the new BlackBerry 10 from spreading across the Net.

Another important thing is that Samsung is no longer focusing on targeting a "regular user" and their priority now seem to be businesses, entrepreneurs, developers and so on. This is because BlackBerry 10 will be focusing on those user groups and Samsung has to try not just to control the damage that the new-old kid on the block might do their business model, but also try to steal their customers as soon as possible. How will this reflect on the Galaxy S4, you might ask? Well, I do have several predictions, although we will have to wait and see how likely these will be.

Samsung VS BlackBerry
Leaked promo of the two new BlackBerry 10 models
The first thing that Samsung will try is to buy as much advertising space as possible so that BlackBerry cannot promote their new products as much as they would like. Samsung's budget is much bigger than theirs which means that this won't be much of a problem. The next step is for Samsung to probably try and come up with new ads for their S3 and Note 2, which will try to show that Samsung's phones are superior.

Another tactic that we can expect Samsung to use is to flood the Internet with 'anonymous leaks' about the Galaxy S4 and the Note 3 so that people who were interested in the BlackBerry 10 decide to wait it out until they see the new flagship devices that the Korean tech giant will release. Finally, Sammy might even step their plans up a bit and release their S4 a lot sooner than they might have originally planned.

So, their readership, what do you think of all of this? Do you agree or disagree that Samsung will do their best to beat BlackBerry in a marketing war? Either way make sure to subscribe to our blog, follow our RSS and/or share this article (if you liked it of course!)

Galaxy S4 Release Date in April?

The latest Samsung Galaxy S4 news for this past week were mostly concentrated around the release date hysteria. People have given up from claiming that we will see the new flagship during the Mobile Word Congress 2013 and have instead started focusing on an April release date. This is mostly a result of the fact that many major tech blogs have mentioned this rumor along with the leaked stylus pen information so naturally, the rumor mill did its job. Non the less, it is the sworn duty of this blog to cover all of these rumors and give you guys and girls an easy breakdown of the most popular S4 rumors. So, shall we start?

Galaxy S4 Release Date

A site by the name of PhonesReview UK recently posted that we should expect the Samsung Galaxy S4 release date to be set after the MWC 2013 and that it will likely be somewhere between April 15 and 22. Naturally, this isn't their original story and it is just a remake of similar stories of the Internet which have not given us the name of their source. This time it is a source that is close to major UK retailers which really doesn't tell us that much. I will however agree that is no longer possible to think that the Galaxy S4 release date is set to be during the Mobile World Congress this year as this is just way too soon. I willing to admit though that I am hopping that Samsung might show a Galaxy S4 prototype or at least present some of the new technology that will surely be a part of this device.

Galaxy S4 News, leaks and release dates
A fan made render of the new device
I am ready to bet my five cents, however, that the Samsung Galaxy S4 release date will have to be announced during a Samsung Unpacked event. The company organizes several of these events each year in different parts of the world, but the biggest one will no doubt be the one where they will showcase their latest premium device. The same thing has been done in the past for the Galaxy S3 smartphone during the London Samsung Unpacked and for the Galaxy Note 2 during the Berlin Samsung Unpacked.

So, that reminds me, do you remember the fake Galaxy S4 release invitation? I criticized a lot of the elements that were just wrong on that photo. For example, it was obviously a picture of a laptop that was displaying a poorly designed attempt at fooling the people on the Internet. But the truth is that we will be seeing real invitations to an event like this one eventually. Usually only the press gets invited to events like this so don't hope to get one of these in your mailbox!

So, dear readers, when do you think the Galaxy S4 will be released? And in what town will Samsung hold the Unpacked event where this device will be presented? We would love to hear from you, so leave us a reply bellow this article!

Galaxy S4 S Pen and Holder Kit (rumor update)

So, we have been hearing for past week that the top Galaxy S4 news on the Net are the reports that claim that the S4 will feature a stylus pen. I find it interesting how a lot of media sites and users are focused more around the S Pen feature then about the more important details such as the CPU, GPU, chip sets and other technical details. Of course, not everyone is a tech wiz who cares about all of these things and the S Pen is something that we all understand and love, but it is really a necessary feature for a smartphone? A few years back I would have said that it was a bit stupid, but only now do I see how much people love larger screens and their stylus pens!

Galaxy S4 S Pen and Holder Kit
Fake Galaxy S4 with S Pen feature

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will feature a 4,99 inch screen - this is nothing new, however, this is a good starting point when talking about the rumored S Pen feature. A large screen like this can function fairly good without a stylus, however, it would still be great to have one. The S Pen provides a totally different approach and a whole new user experience - so, why not include it into the S4 design plan?

However, if we are to have a S Pen functionality, then a holder kit accessory is really something that will be a must! This will probably be very similar to the kit that was introduced with the Galaxy Note series, which is all quite standard.

This kit costs around $60 for the Galaxy Note, so we can expect a similar price range for Samsung's upcoming flagship smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S4 with S Pen in April?

We mentioned that the Galaxy S4 might be featuring an S Pen a long time ago and this is hardly fresh Galaxy S4 news, however, this time around we have some new details, along with a supposed release date of the new device. Western blogs across the web are reporting that Korean media has announced a report that the S4 will have S Pen functionality along with a 4,99 inch full HD display screen. This beast is expected to arrive in April 2013 and Enuri (a Korean media) has reported that Samsung is already hard at work in order to actually meet this deadline.

Galaxy S4 S-Pen Features in April
Fake promotion poster of a 'Galaxy S4' with the S Pen

Korean media suggests that Samsung has already developed most of the technology that they plan to integrate inside of the Galaxy S4's hardware and that we have already seen some of these technologies in action. For example. the SGS4 is expected to come with a 4,99" Super AMOLED Full HD screen which is something similar to what we have seen on the Galaxy Note series. Samsung is expected to offer a great display resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels which means 441 pixels per inch. This is quite impressive, but is is something brand new that we have not yet seen? Not, it really isn't and if Sammy hopes to sell 10 million units a month they will have to dish out something far more impressive if you ask me!

Another detail that was revealed is that we should expect the Galaxy S4 to be a bit thicker with 9.1 mm of thickness which is a big bigger when compared to the Galaxy S3's 8.6 mm of thickness. Honestly though I would quite like this change as I am not such a huge fan of thin mobile devices and I prefer bulkier models. This if of course a matter of preference, but most people will hardly tell the difference.

So what say you dear readership? Are you excited about the Galaxy S4 coming out with an S Pen?

Samsung Galaxy S4 to Sell 10 Million Units a Month? Is It Possible?

So far we talked about the rumored Galaxy S4 news, photos, leaks and specs, but it is as though we are forgetting one of the most important things. For us, this is quality, but for Samsung? Well, it has to be profit, after all they won't be handing out the S4 for free to people on the street! So, how much profit is the Korean tech giant expecting to get out of their upcoming flagship device? And how many devices can they even sell? The title of this article may have ruined the surprise: reports are claiming that Samsung hopes to sell 10 million units per month once the device is launched. So, the question we are asking is whether or not this is possible. We will give our own answer in this article, but we would like to hear what you this via the comments down bellow.

Galaxy S4 Sales Predictions
The S3 sold quite well in 2012, is it time for the S4 to take over?
Before we can answer whether or not Samsung can sell 10 million units per month we should look at the previous success that this company has had. For good measure, let us compare those sale figures with other ones as well. From what I have seen, CNET reported mid January that Samsung had sold over 40 million Galaxy S3 devices in total (here is the article) which means that sales are indeed going well, but not that well to actually predict that Samsung can sell 10 million units per month! After all, the S3 was released about 7 months ago, which means it sold roughly 5,7 million units per month on average. Can Samsung really sell double the amount of S3 devices that they have sold? If so, then that will really make some interesting Galaxy S4 news a year from now.

On other hand, we have Apple, a company that has sold 47.8 million iPhones in the fourth quarter of 2012 which is quite impressive and a type of number Samsung will probably want to get passed in the coming seasons.

My personal opinion is that Samsung might be able to sell more than 10 million of these devices during the first month of the Galaxy S4 release. However, sales will gradually start dropping and if Samsung really hopes to sell 10 million each month, then I am afraid that this will hardly be the case. However, Samsung has people working on their plans and these people are far smarter than me, that's for sure! I doubt a Samsung official has given this statement and I feel that this is just another fake rumor.

So what do you guys and girls think?  In the meantime, follow our RSS feed to keep updated with the latest Galaxy S4 news and updates!

Enjoying Windows 8

Microsoft Windows 8 has launched since 26 Oct 2012. I am one of the few among my peers who have embraced the new Windows OS. I was so pleased with the initial Windows experience that I actually bought a new laptop to fully enjoy the OS - the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13.

Many of you might not be willing to take the plunge with the new interface, and I completely understand. I myself am still sticking with Windows 7 on my desktop, decided against upgrading to Windows 8. My main concern is driver compatibility with legacy hardware and software. In addition, you get a better Windows 8 experience with touchscreen-enabled devices.

What do I like about the Windows 8?

Traditional: Improved Desktop
Users are all too familiar with the desktop, and Windows 8 has it intact - except for the Start menu which I will share more later. You will find the same Taskbar, the Control Panel apps, the Maintenance tools. On top of that, the File Explorer is redesigned to be touch friendly with similar horizontal menu layout as MS Office. When copying files, you now can see a transfer speed graph and the ability to pause a transfer. I also love the new Task Manager layout that presents a whole lot more system information in a much more GUI-friendly manner.

Modern: New Interface
Besides the desktop, Windows 8 comes with a new interface previously known as "Metro". Named Modern UI, it is optimised for touch interaction and runs as if it's another operating system. This is the one that scares most of the consumers off, especially when the Start screen replaces the Start menu from the desktop. My view? I consider this a bonus interface of Windows 8, a secondary benefit for my use.

The Modern UI comes with its own set of rules and behaviour which takes some getting used to. Modern-style apps can only be downloaded and installed from the Windows Store. The apps run on full-screen unlike desktop apps. There are new touch gestures to interact with these apps. There are new setting screens to manage the customisation of the Modern UI. Yet, for some advanced customisation options, the system will still load up the desktop-style Control Panel for you to make changes. Just like the Windows Phone, some of the app tiles provide live feeds and notification counters.

Some apps are designed specially to be able to run on both desktop mode and Modern UI mode, apps like IE10 and Google Chrome. Most others do not have such feature for now, so you have to install different versions, for instance, Skydrive and Dropbox. To add to the confusion, both versions of the same app could  have vastly different feature sets and look, but these are software design issues. In my opinion, having the ability to run the same app on different interfaces opens up greater software design possibilities. Microsoft has demonstrated this with their settings management, I can use the Modern UI to access some settings, and system redirects me to the desktop UI for more advanced settings, seamlessly.

Instead of consuming content like photos, music and video on the traditional desktop apps, you can now do so on the sleek Modern UI. You can also access your Mail, Messaging, Calendar quickly in a simple and effective GUI. You might even find apps that you are so familiar with on your mobile and tablet devices, apps like news aggregator Pulse News, local publication The Straits Times. Apps with layouts that you like on tablets can now be accessed on Windows 8. And what about games? Angry Birds, Jetpack Joyride, Air Hockey are available for free. With Windows 8, I can use my device as a workhorse, as a content browser, as an entertainment console.

And if you are still sore about the fact that the Start menu is gone, fret not. There are third-party apps that you can install to bring it back! Read on further and I will reveal more details.

Cloud: Synchronised Experience
Windows 8 is very cloud-friendly, taking a leaf off the competitors. It is so easy to synchronise my PC settings across different Windows 8 and RT devices. This really helps me when doing gadget reviews on Windows 8 or RT devices. Once I create a user profile using my online Windows account credentials, I get back all my settings, my Start screen theme, my desktop wallpaper, my accounts I connected to like Gmail, Facebook, Flickr. My emails appear on the Mail app, my calendar gets sync too, my online photo albums starts to appear. There is no need to set up all over again. Although the apps are not automatically reinstalled, it is easy to reinstall them as the Windows Store keeps track of all your Modern UI apps (not the desktop ones) installed on various devices. This allows me to pick the apps I want to install, and certainly a good way to keep track the apps I have tried previously.

If you choose not to create an online, you can still create a local user profile, but you need an online account to download Windows Store apps.

The adoption of Windows 8 also made me try for the first time, Outlook.com and online Skydrive web portals, and I must say I quite like it. The web UI is consistent with the Windows 8 Modern UI look and feel. You can even use the same keyboard and mouse controls to navigate the content, like right-click for context menu, drag-and-drop to move content to another folder, backspace to move up to the parent folder. Browsing photos are speedy: just click the thumbnail image to view with EXIF details, click again for a full-screen view, use keypad to browse other images, and hit Esc to go back to thumbnails view. On Outlook.com, I am amazed that you can easily change your email address, although that would mean your previous contacts would not be able to reach you on your previous email address. I also like the ability to create email aliases, that are effectively forwarding email addresses, so that you can own multiple email addresses without having to create multiple email accounts that you do not really need. These positive experiences on the apps certainly entice me to consider migrating my Dropbox and Gmail over.

Multi-Touch Friendly: Intuitive
After enjoying the touch experience on tablets and smartphones, PC users can finally interact with the machines with touch. For years, I have been trying to find ways to make my tablets work and perform like a productive desktop. Windows 8 makes it possible without compromises. Open your massive Excel spreadsheets or your heavy-content Word documents, conduct Powerpoint presentations by touch, run your favourite browser without compromises. In months to come, software companies will update their apps to fully support multi-touch engagements. Hardware companies have also been pushing their limits of innovation to deliver unique solutions. The ASUS Transformer is certainly an inspiration to many.

With Windows 8 - and the numerous manufactuers' innovative designs - I can truly attain uncompromised productivity from a lightweight touch device.

Bring Back The Start Menu
The absence of Start Menu is undoubtedly the one feature that made most people dislike Windows 8 instantly. What they should learn is that you can actually access your programs way much faster in Windows 8: on the Start screen, just type the program name and the search results appear instantaneously. If you prefer to view the entire list, there is the "All Apps" view. And if you have some favourite apps that you need to be seen, then add as a tile, and make it a big one. You can group your tiles and name it. I do admit that as the list of apps grow, the tiles might get too many. If that happens, you can still fall back on the good old desktop to display your shortcut icons.

If nothing can convince you to want the Start Menu back, here's a solution that cost you US$4.99: Start8 by Stardock. This life-saving app brings back the Start menu, the Program menu folders, and all the familiar shortcut items. Lots of customisation for you to play around, you can even make the Start Menu display a smaller pop-up version of the Start screen.  Download it for a 30-day trial and you will love it. Before you give up on Windows 8, install this.

Start Today
Like most people, my initial thought about Windows 8 and the new Modern UI is "What for? I don't need a new UI, I don't want to learn a new UI, and I don't quite like it as much." But the Modern UI is the interface to make your Windows 8 work like a gorgeous tablet.

It's a fact that Windows 8 is re-designed to cater to touch-based devices. Windows 8 changes the way we interact with the OS, discarding some features we are familiar with over the decades. Even so, there is no reason not to embrace the changes, especially when the trend is moving towards touch-based operating systems. Microsoft may not have gotten it completely right the first time, but it is a right step and I am looking forward to official enhancements and third party solutions.

If you are concerned about using Windows 8 on non-touch devices, there are mouse devices the support Windows 8 touch gestures, like the new Logitech mice I reviewed recently. Maybe after a few months when you are really comfortable with Windows 8, you can consider buying a touchscreen laptop or tablet hybrid. PC trade shows occur every quarter in Singapore with superb bargains.

It's always easy to criticise, to reject new ideas, to resist change. But in my opinion, Windows 8 is a change that I am willing to adapt to, for the era of mobile touch computing is already here. Microsoft has created this new OS platform, now it's up to innovative developers like Stardock to create software to improve user experiences.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Design and Photos

Galaxy S4 photo leaks are not a trustworthy thing on the Internet as 3D and Photoshop experts will not have a hard time designing and faking a render/model. There have been plenty of these leaks already and people seem to take them for granted, while the truth is that we are perhaps nowhere near what the device will actually look like. However, let us base our opinion on what we know so far about the S series and what rumors are suggesting to create our own theory of what we should be expecting. Sounds like fun? Since there are really no Galaxy S4 news this week, let us try to do this together.

So, let us start from the latest Galaxy S4 leaked image:

Galaxy S4 photo vs Galaxy S3

The second phone is obviously the Galaxy S3, while the first one is the rumored photo of the Galaxy S4 which highlights its visual and design difference from the previous model. We are expected to notice that the phone will be larger and that it will feature a 4,99" display. The image also suggests that the phone will keep its physical Home button and that it will feature physical volume buttons. Round edges have been a feature of the Galaxy S series and this design approach seems to be a hybrid between the S3 and S2.

To be even more accurate, the S4 photo we posted above resembles the Galaxy Note 2 more than any of the S series smartphones. So, here are some Galaxy S4 news and tips for you: expect a lot of fake images in the following months!

So, can we create any prediction of our own? It would certainly be possible to guess, but it is hard to say anything that nobody has mentioned yet. What we are betting strongly on, however, is the 4,99" inch display which is bound to be a feature of Galaxy S4. Another thing to expect is that Samsung will stick to some basic white and black color combinations for their first few models before they release other design variations.

Also, it is easy to expect a stylus pen to become a part of the Galaxy S4 accessory kit and some websites such as SamMobile are even betting on it. Due to the predicted larger screen size this would make perfect sense, although this is something we can live without.

Make sure to follow this blog for regular Galaxy S4 news and updates!

Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos:Specifications and Review

Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos:A Phablet with Dual Sim Support

Samsung has introduced another device into their Galaxy series ,Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos,a phablet with    dual sim functionality into the market. With its predecessors, the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note II success in the market Samsung aiming at more market share in the smartphone market with  mid range smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos Specifications:

Samsung Galaxy Grand comes with a 5-inch WVGA TFT display with a relatively low 480X800 resolution. It has a 1.2 GHz dual core processor with 1GB of RAM.Grand comes with the latest version of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and has a Samsung TouchWiz user interface. Also it has a 2 MP front camera and a 8 MP rear camera with capacity to record video at 1080p.It supports 2G,3G and Wi-fi connectivity and also Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 2.0.

It has a 8 GB internal built-in storage expandable upto 64 GB via MicroSD card.It is powered by a 2100 mAh battery that offers a 440 hr standby and a 610 min talktime on 2G/3G. It has Svoice,Direct call, Popup Video, and multi-app functionality. The phone weights at 161 grams.
The Grand Duos is priced at Rs.21,500/-

Grand Duos Vs Note 2 Vs Galaxy S3

Samsung galaxy Grand Duos has been introduced has a mid range smartphone that ranges in between the samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2 ,the successful predecessors of Grand. As cost and convenience is concerned the Grand duos leads in both with its lower cost range of Rs.21,500 compared to Note 2 and Galaxy S3 around Rs.30,000 .Also when convenience is concerned it has a dual sim functionality with no need to switch between sims to receive calls.According to Samsung ,if the user is talking on a call in one sim and an incoming call on the other sim would be redirected to the first sim with Grand Duos' Auto-forwading feature.
Also Grand Duos has a better screen size of 5-inches which is highier when compared to samsung Galaxy s3 with a 4.8 inch screen but lesser than note 2 's 5.29 inches.A 5-inch display size is though enough but Grand Duos with a low screen resolution of 480X800 and a WVGA TFT display is disappointing.

Also the dual-core 1.2 GHz processor is much lesser compared to the others as Note 2 features a 1.6 GHz quad-core.But Grand Duos comes with the latest Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean built-in and could expect a better performance from the OS.
There is no much difference in the appearance of Grand Duos from Note 2 and S3.It looks exactly same as the Note2 and S3 and the UI TouchWiz works perfectly as it makes it feel the same.Grand Duos is slim phone with 9.6mm thin and has a plastic rear finish. The headphone jack is featured in the top.

The Grand Duos supports the features SVoice,Smart Stay,Chat On and also multi-functional capacity just like Note 2 and Galaxy S3.

Also Samsung introduced another Services My Service through which users can have access to My Movies,My Music,My Education,My Mobile TV  where users can have access to lot of local contents. Also Samsung provides Samsung App and Google Play support where users can have a lot of free and paid apps.

Bottom Line

Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos is a better choice with a low cost but with almost every functionality of a high end smartphone within the Galaxy Series. If the brand is not the choice, then  Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos would have to compete with the Micromax A116 Canvas HD phablet with 5-inch screen size  1280X720 resolution and featuring a quad-core processor and which comes within a price range of Rs.15,000.Samsung would have to consider about Grand Duos price.

Galaxy S4 Early Presentation in February? Not a Release Date!

It seems a lot of journalists can't tell the difference between a presentation and an actual release date. The current story is that the Galaxy S4 would be presented at the end of February at the World Mobile Congress (WMC) which I honestly find difficult to picture. I am not doubting that Samsung has been hard at work creating the latest flagship smartphone for their Galaxy S series, but isn't it too soon? Of course, if Samsung does give us a look at the S4 in February, this doesn't mean that the device will immediately be ready for sale the next week.

GalaxyS4-LeakedPhoto-April
A fake, fan render of the Galaxy S4

However, in all honesty, the Galaxy S4 is a phone that has elite status in the mobile industry due to the success of the previous models. A device like this isn't something that Samsung will just present at WMC, this a sort of device that deserves its own event, and another rumor is that we will see a special event for the Galaxy S4 somewhere in mid-March or at the start of April. A popular blog called SamMobile posted that April the 15th is the day when the S4 will be revealed to the general public and presented. Personally, I wouldn't trust this report, but April seems pretty possible for a presentation date. After all, Samsung is under a lot of pressure since other companies are catching up to the pace and offering powerful smartphone and phablet devices of their own.

In other Galaxy S4 news, the reports last week focused more on the device's appearance. These reports are claiming that the new Samsung Galaxy S4 will originally come to the market in two colors - black and white, which is a classic approach. Although you can expect for their designer to come up with some fancy names such as Midnight Rush or something along those lines. Another thing you can expect of Samsung is to release additional colors several months after the release like they did with the S3. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing something like Sapphire Black on the S4, but that is just personal opinion. What do you guys and girls think about the role that design will play in selling the Galaxy S4?

Galaxy S4 Specs According to AnTuTu Benchmark

Hey guys and girls, ready for some new Galaxy S4 news and rumors? Yeah, more rumors that are probably not true but you want to hear anyway! Well, at least this time we won't be starting an article with "an anonymous source claims that" , instead we will focus on a report from AnTuTu Benchmark who has leaked screenshots which showcase some of the Galaxy S4's features. The main focus here is the Exynos 5 Octa, the eight-core processor which will, according to this report, certainly be featured on the Galaxy S4.

Galaxy S4 Specs AnTuTu Benchmark news
One of the mean leaked renders of the S4 that is probably fake

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will have the model number GT-I9500 when it comes to international as well as the model code SHV-E300S for South Korea. The device will, as the report suggest, certainly  pack Samsung’s newly announced eight-core processor, the Exynos 5 Octa. This processor is running at 1.8GHz. Aside from this hardware report, AnTuTu Benchmark also shows that the S4 will proudly sport Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean OS out of the box.

This news, unfortunately, doesn't reveal anything extremely new and exciting and it should still be taken with a grain of salt as we never know just how reliable these source are. This being said though, I am quite confident that this report is pretty accurate. The Exynos 5 Octa has a lot of buzz around it and it is already creating a good marketing campaign for the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3. As for the OS, obviously Samsung will try to bring in the latest stable OS version to their users when it comes to their flagship device. Perhaps Key Lime Pie 5.0 will come just in time to be featured on the S4 instead of Jelly Bean?

Either way, make sure to follow our blog to keep updated with the latest Samsung Galaxy S4 news, rumors and leaks!

Facebook Graph Search:Things of Concern

Facebook Graph Search:Things of Concern

Facebook ,as the leading social networking site  has always brought something new for us always .And now they came up with a new innovative idea of graph search.

Facebook has introduced the beta of their new search tool ,Facebook Graph Search .

The graph search provides you with the information that are within your Facebook account or on your friends account or on their friends'.Graph Search focuses on  four categories for now People,Places,Photos and Interests.

It could be called as an internal search engine as it retrieves what is there within your contacts and by relating it with your friends and their friends and their friends and their activities like shares,Likes, comments, place visits and interests and other information.

What exactly  happening is that what are all information we have been providing to Facebook for the past eight years are now being returned back to us optimized.

How is it helpful?

The advantage of graph search is that the queries can be written in simple English like
"Which friends of mine like cycling"
These could provide you with results of your friends who are interested in Cycling and also

                                  "Finest restaurants in Paris "

could provide you with the restaurants your friends visited last time when they visited Paris.
You could also find some friends  living in some town say New York and when you first visit New York ,you can find them by searching for
"my friends living in New York".

Also in cases if looking for a dream job in some company you could search for someone you knew in that company to make your dream come true.

What is there in it to be concerned with?

Of course there are something to be concerned with.I would say the privacy. It does matters. As people shared their information and interests with their friends and with someone they knew but with the graph search it is not that sure how safe your information would be.

Privacy:
Though Facebook assures  privacy to users on their contents ,graph search results are generated considering with the user activities like user shares, likes , and comments on various posts by the user. The search  could thus pop up something that the user didn't want to share with everyone.
Also search brings results to user about the details of friends of friends of friends is also of concern.

Accuracy:
Also there are concerns about the accuracy of search results. With billions of data in the database with similar keywords and user activities and how likely it could bring the exact information is a concern.

Compete capacity:
Also with the popular search engines like Google exists ,how likely would people prefer  for Facebook graph search is also a question arise.

How to enable Facebook graph Search?
Facebook has introduced only the beta of Facebook graph search and that also available to limited area and accounts.A large blue search bar will be on the top of your Facebook page for graph search. For those who doesn't have one could sign up for it or could join the Waiting list for Graph Search.

You can join the waiting list from Facebook page:Join the Facebook Graph search Waiting list

Qualcomm CEO Calls Samsung’s Eight-Core Exynos 5 Octa a Publicity Stunt

A few days ago we told you that Samsung presented the Exynos 5 Octa, which is an eight core processor that is bound to provide brilliant performance and might be prt of the next Galaxy S4. However, I personally don't think it is fair to exactly call it an eight-core processor and Qualcomm CEO agrees, but uses much harsher words. In fact, Dr. Paul Jacobs called the whole project a publicity stunt whose aim is to mislead the public into thinking that the Exynos 5 Octa is something new, unique and better than what other companies have to offer.

Exynos5Octa-vs-SnapdragonPro

Personally I agree and I think that this is the start of a great marketing campaign for the Galaxy S4 as well as the Galaxy Note 3. The Exynos 5 Octa doesn't really earn its name due to the fact that it doesn’t operate all eight cores simultaneously which is something most people will be thinking. The fact is that this processor has a bank of four advanced A15 or four smaller A7 cores. Depending on the needs of the programs(s) that are being ran the processor will choose between the two banks in order to provide the best experience possible while saving needless battery drain.

The Tegra 3 is just Tegra 3, in spite of the fact that if you counts its extra power-saving core it should actually be called a five-core chip. Qualcomm CEO Dr. Paul Jacobs doesn’t seem too pleased with how Samsung is trying to position this chip, and had a few choice words about the Exynos 5 Octa while speaking to reporters in Beijing.

However, this is how the tech industry and smart advertising coexist and function, it is nothing new and is quite normal of Dr. P. Jacobs to defend the interests of his company and their Smartdragon processor. What we should really be waiting for is the benchmark results to see how well the Exynos 5 Octa performs - that is what really matters. Or at least it should!
